The D-League - Program Discriptions

U9 – U11 | Boys and Girls | Target and Development

The D-League U9 - U11 program has been designed to provide a fresh, innovative approach to indoor soccer leagues in the GTA for young players.  Less offseason mandatory commitment, lower fees, more choice, and flexibility allow teams to build their indoor competition schedule.  For our U9 – U11 age groups, we have reduced overall time, travel, and financial commitments for players and parents during the offseason.

The U9 – U11 D-League will offer 12 league games between late October and April.  Teams can enter up to three (3) in-season festivals that will provide up to six additional games.  Teams entering the league and participating in all three in-season festivals will play 18 games.

  • D-League teams will receive a 50% discount on festival entry fees—$125.00 per team per festival.

  • D-League teams will have early entry opportunities for all Festivals.

  • The three (3) in-season Festivals will occur in December, March, and April.

Our league/festival hybrid season will provide more variety of competition and will be an excellent option for teams with multi-sport athletes.  Lastly, more time for players, coaches, and parents to enjoy weekends away from the soccer field during the offseason.

U12 | Boys and Girls | Target and Development

The U12 program is where players take the next step in their development.  By U12, players are more committed to soccer as their sport of choice year-round.  Coaches are looking for more competition opportunities and more playing time to get their players ready for the outdoor season and the adjustment to the new playing format.  The D-League is here for these teams and coaches, ready to step up to the next level!

All new for the 2023-24 season,

  • The D-League will offer teams 16 2 x 35-minute games—20 minutes of additional playing time per league game vs standard indoor leagues.

  • The D-League will provide VEO Cam filming for ALL U12 9v9 League Games.  The game film will be posted online as well as emailed to individual clubs to be used for their own training/review purposes.

The new D-League 16 x 70-minute 9v9 format will provide teams with the equivalent of over 22 standard indoor games.

Have you got time for a bit of math?  No, well, here it is anyway.  16 D-League 9v9 games at 70 minutes per game = 1,120 minutes of playing time.  1,120 / 50 (standard indoor league game time, 2x25 minutes) = 22.4.

More game time, more touches of the ball, more goals, more saves, more learning opportunities, more memories, more fun all, with fewer weekends committed, less travelling to indoor facilities in the winter.  Welcome to the D-League.

In addition, D-League teams can enter up to two (2) in-season festivals that will provide up to four additional games.  Teams entering the league and participating in both in-season festivals will play 20 games!

  • D-League teams will receive a 50% discount on festival entry fees—$200.00 per team per festival.

  • D-League teams will have early entry opportunities for all Festivals.

  • The two in-season Festivals will occur in December and March.

U13 – U18 11v11 | Tier 1 Teams

This is the whole kitchen sink, all we got, the best indoor league experience we can offer U13+ teams.  The D-League // FTF U13 – U18 11v11 league has it all.  More games, more playing time, and more time to work on tactics, team shape, set pieces and positional awareness, all with more exposure and emphasis on player experience.

  • 14 games are guaranteed.

  • 2 x 35-minute games

  • 980 minutes of playing time

  • All games are recorded on our VEO Cams and posted to the D-League website and FTF YouTube page.

  • Individual player statistics are tracked and posted.

  • FTF Media Day, including team photos and individual headshots.

The new D-League 14 games x 70-minute 11v11 format will provide teams with the equivalent of over 19.5 standard indoor games.

Have you got time for a bit of math?  No, well, here it is anyway.  14 D-League 11v11 games at 70 minutes per game = 980 minutes of playing time.  980 / 50 (standard indoor league game time, 2x25 minutes) = 19.6.
